What do your recycling bins say?

by admin on November 5, 2007

Whether it’s for a business, a school, or an organization, it’s important to provide clear instructions on how you want your recycling program to operate. Decide on the type of containers to store the recyclables in and the space in which to store them. Plastic bins or trash cans are the best, but cardboard boxes do a good job too. Provide clear, easy to understand directions and labeling. Label the storage bins and print up a sheet of special instructions like, “remove caps and stomp on the containers, break down cardboard boxes, bundle newspapers”, etc. Keep the storage bins clean and dry. Don’t let materials pile up. A clean recycling area encourages other to keep it clean and uncluttered.

To help others with this process, I’ve created a 7″ square decal to be used on the front of recycling bins.
